No news is good news

I received the phone call and it shakes out like this, a feeling out period has begun. For all intents and purposes the internship has a new investor(on a handshake deal) and I was asked how many hours I could committ to and how much it would it take. Hopefully a more formal meeting will take place tomorrow. Is this good news? In my world good news is when you see a check. The NY in me is skeptical.
